Hey Cuties!
I just realized that today marks the one month anniversary of when I started this blog! Thank you to all who have read it over the past month and have enjoyed my posts! So for this week’s #manicuremonday, I decided to do a textured watermelon design. I created an ombre effect by blending the colours together with a makeup sponge. It’s a bit more of a complicated design then I usually post, so I’ll write it out in steps to go along with the picture.
Tools:
- Nail Polish Colours; Green, Pink, A Blending Pink, A Blending Green, Black
- Makeup Sponge
- Nail Art Brush
Steps:
1.) Paint the bottom half of your nail pink and wait for it to dry. Next, paint some of your makeup sponge with the same pink and dab it over the already painted pink part of your nail.
2.) Paint a quarter if your nail, above the pink, with the blending pink colour, wait for it to dry and then add another coat with the makeup sponge. Paint the last quarter with your blending green colour, and add another coat with the makeup sponge.
3.) With your main green colour, paint the tip of your nail, with the nail art brush, to create the outside of the watermelon. This does not need a second coat with the sponge. 4.) Using the nail art brush, create seeds on the pink using your black colour nail polish.
Since this is a more complex design than the ones I’ve previously posted, I was planning to do a video tutorial, but I ran into some problems. Hopefully I’ll be able to post a video later this week! As always enjoy and check back next week for another design!
