Starry Night

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening, Good Night Cuties!

I realize everybody is reading this at different times of the day, and in different parts of the world, so I chose to greet my readers with many different greetings today. Not much going on within the past week, or this upcoming week, but I’m still working hard on the video tutorials and hope to get those up ASAP! For today’s design, I chose to share one of my favourite, and I guess in a way, signature nail designs. I do this design all the time when I don’t have an idea in mind, and I always get compliments on it. It’s super easy and fun to do, so I figured I’d share it with all of you.

Tools:
- Nail Polish Colours; Dark Royal Blue, Glittery Gold
Steps:
1.) Paint four of your nails, on one hand, with the dark royal blue colour.
2.) Using the glittery gold colour, lightly paint over your blue nails, so you can still see the blue underneath. Paint your fifth nail, or your accent nail, completely gold. I doesn’t matter if you can still see some of your nail, because the light reflection off the gold will help hide it some.

Now, I know glitter nail polish is pretty much the worst to get off your nails, so hopefully I will do a post on how to easily get it off some time in the near future. When I’m in a hurry, I will usually just keep rubbing it off with acetone-base nail polish remover. As always, stay posted!

Kissy Fit

Happy Happy Monday Cuties!

I hope you all had an amazing and relaxing weekend! This new design is a pretty cool one and a bit more glamourous and girlie than I usually do. I went with a pink theme for the design, but you can choose a different theme or colour palette.
Tools:
- Nail Polish Colours; Light Pink, Medium Pink, Glittery Pink, Red, White, Black
          (Optional: Silver and Glittery Black)
- Nail Art Brush
Steps:
1.) Paint your whole nail with the light pink colour.
2.) With the nail art brush, draw two white vertical curved lines, slightly diagonal, to split your nail into thirds. Paint the outside of these lines with your medium pink colour. Go over this pink colour with a glittery pink colour.
3.) With the nail art brush again, draw lips, slanted to match the white lines, in the middle of your nail. Fill in the lips with red.

Optional:
4.) Use silver nail polish to go over the white lines and a glittery black to go over the outlines lips.

This is quite the cute and flirty design and also fun for the summer! As always, share if you try this or previous designs. Don’t forget to follow Cutie Cure on Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr! I hope to get a YouTube channel up and running soon as well! I will be sure to keep you updated! Enjoy!

Textured Watermelon

Hey Cuties!

I just realized that today marks the one month anniversary of when I started this blog! Thank you to all who have read it over the past month and have enjoyed my posts! So for this week’s #manicuremonday, I decided to do a textured watermelon design. I created an ombre effect  by blending the colours together with a makeup sponge. It’s a bit more of a complicated design then I usually post, so I’ll write it out in steps to go along with the picture.

Tools:
- Nail Polish Colours; Green, Pink, A Blending Pink, A Blending Green, Black
- Makeup Sponge
- Nail Art Brush
Steps:
1.) Paint the bottom half of your nail pink and wait for it to dry. Next, paint some of your makeup sponge with the same pink and dab it over the already painted pink part of your nail.
2.) Paint a quarter if your nail, above the pink, with the blending pink colour, wait for it to dry and then add another coat with the makeup sponge. Paint the last quarter with your blending green colour, and add another coat with the makeup sponge.
3.) With your main green colour, paint the tip of your nail, with the nail art brush, to create the outside of the watermelon. This does not need a second coat with the sponge. 4.) Using the nail art brush, create seeds on the pink using your black colour nail polish.

Since this is a more complex design than the ones I’ve previously posted, I was planning to do a video tutorial, but I ran into some problems. Hopefully I’ll be able to post a video later this week! As always enjoy and check back next week for another design!

The Floral Touch

Happy Hump Day!

I know I regularly post on Mondays, but it’s been sunny lately (yay!) and I kinda got in the mood to paint my toes…again. This time, I went for an accent on my big toes with a beautiful blue tone as the main colour.

I started by painting a double layer of the blue on all of my toes. For the accent toes, I took a nail art brush and painted a broken curved white line across the upper part of the nail. I then placed a nail art flower sticker on the right side of the curved line. I went over the sticker a few extra times with the top coat to help it stay on the nail and in place.

It’s a simple design, but very cute. I wanted to do a lavender colour as the main colour, but I grabbed this blue tone first. This design could obviously work with any colour you choose, and you could choose a different shape to replace the flower as well. Don’t forget to check back on Monday to see a new design!

Enjoy!

A Pop of Colour

Hey Cuties!

I was busy this past week, and didn’t have too much inspiration, so I decided to do a quick tip instead of a design or tutorial. Bright colours are always a part of summer fashion, whether it’s clothes, or in this case, nails.

Bright nail polish can always make a statement, but here is a tip to add some more pop to it! Before you apply your colour of choice, apply a layer or two of white polish to your nails. It adds a brighter base to your nails than just your nude nail colour. When applying the white colour, make sure it goes on smooth, because your main colour will go on bump and look terrible. If after one coat of the white polish it looks bumping and rough, don’t apply a second, or if you want to and have the time to do so, start over.

I was planning to play beach volley-ball today, so I decide to do this on my toe nails. Not only adding a pop of colour to my toes, but also to the sand when my toes poke through. Anyways, hope you enjoy and check back next week for another design or tip. And don’t forget to share a pic if you try this or last week’s design (O Canada) with me on Twitter or Instagram!
